Amazing Experience at HorizonAI Expo in Ho Chi Minh City

Headless Empire had an amazing experience representing at the first HorizonAI Expo, held alongside Hobby Horizon in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from July 17–19, 2026.

The event brought together AI builders, business owners, technology enthusiasts, anime fans, cosplayers, card-game communities, and creators. It was an unusual combination—and a valuable place to see how different groups currently understand and respond to artificial intelligence.

Mike Michelini and his 12-year-old son Miles represented Headless Empire at the event. Local team members also helped operate the booth, speak with visitors, and interpret for the Vietnamese market.

Before the event, we shared why Headless Empire was heading to HorizonAI Expo. After three days of conversations, booth demonstrations, networking, and Mike's presentation on running a business with AI, we left with several important insights.

1. AI Adoption Is Still Very Early

The first lesson was clear: we are still in the early days of practical AI adoption.

Many people are using AI, but much of that usage is still limited to asking questions, generating text, or treating a model as a more conversational search engine. Those uses can be valuable, but they are only the beginning.

Agentic tools—systems that can work across applications, carry out multi-step processes, and help operate parts of a business—are still unfamiliar to much of the market. Many visitors had not yet experienced what happens when AI moves from simply answering a question to participating in a real workflow.

That gap is one of the reasons Headless Empire exists.

2. The Opportunity Is an AI Operating Environment

One of the strongest insights came from another expert at the event: instead of presenting every application as a separate product, we can bring the entire Headless Empire stack together under one identity and one working environment.

Think of it like a virtual desktop for operating a business with AI.

A user could sign in once, open the applications they need, work with their preferred agents, and access a hosted language model without repeatedly moving between disconnected accounts and browser tabs. Identity, applications, knowledge, and AI assistance would meet in one place.

This is a direction we are actively exploring—not merely a bundle of tools, but a coherent operating environment for getting work done.

3. Security Must Be Visible and Reassuring

Security came up repeatedly in our conversations.

Business owners understandably want to know what happens when an agent can access an account, read company information, or take an action on their behalf. Could it expose private data? Could it post something without permission? What happens if it makes a mistake?

These concerns cannot be answered with vague promises. Agentic systems need clear permissions, visible activity, controlled access, human approval for important actions, and reliable ways to stop or reverse a process.

Trust will not come from asking users to ignore the risks. It will come from designing systems that give people meaningful control and evidence that the technology behaves as promised.

4. AI Must Respect Creators

Holding HorizonAI alongside an anime and cosplay event revealed another important tension.

Some people in creative communities are hesitant about AI because of difficult experiences with generative art. Artists and creators have seen their work used without clear consent, worried about jobs being replaced, or felt that the value of human creativity was being dismissed.

Those concerns are real and deserve respect.

The future of AI should not be framed as technology versus creators. The better opportunity is to build tools that support human creativity, respect ownership and attribution, and help creators spend more time on the parts of their work that matter most to them.

5. There Is Still Enormous Opportunity

It is easy to look at the speed of AI development and feel late. Every week brings new models, agents, applications, and announcements.

But our experience at HorizonAI showed the opposite: most businesses have barely started.

The practical standards are still forming. Trust and security models are still improving. Agentic workflows are still being discovered. Companies are still learning where AI genuinely creates value and where human judgment must remain central.

This is not the end of the opportunity. It is the beginning.

Building the Headless Future

HorizonAI gave us valuable feedback about where Headless Empire should go next: a connected environment with one identity, a useful stack of applications, integrated AI, visible security, and human control.

We are excited about the future of AI for business and growth—but even more excited about turning that future into practical systems people can understand, trust, and use.

If you feel behind, do not. The market is still early, the important questions are still open, and there is plenty of room to help build what comes next.

Follow Headless Empire as we continue building and sharing this new way of working.
